approx 50% reservation in all premier Indian colleges!

Yes, I am sure all of you are aware of this, I am too..

I am sure many of you, if not all, are feeling pained by this.. I am too..

This comment raises valid points, and pushes me to post about this issue.

I think what I am waiting for is some time [to make a proper post], and the link to an online petition against it [I am sure someone would have started it, please post the link as a comment if you know].

Trust me dear readers, I feel very yucked out about this issue, and feel that we should all protest, and that is why I hope that there is only ONE BIG online petition, about which everyone knows, and signs.

Thanks for your concern, and keep the flame alive!

  6. Two things:

    1. I have serious doubts that these petitions work. Aren't they only a feelgood/feel-safe device..? I have already seen 3 versions of it since morning but would never come to know what happend to them once they are signed. And at least 2 of them (other than this No Quota link) looked shady and opaque. Who takes the responsibility of getting them seen by the people who matter. And do the people who matter really give it some value. (I am counting the media here too.)

    2. Good News. Cabinet Secretary has returned the Govt. proposal for Quota and the thing is in cold storage for now. hope it remains there forever, and the debate goes on so as to clear the foggy issue.

  7. The first thought that comes to my mind is of utter disgust. Then I am ashamed as a voter(non-voter... didn't vote last time, was busy making life easy for a client) to have elected these guys to power.
Then helplessness, between communalism, communists, minority appeasers and the congress(they seem a little of all) we do have a devil's choice.
Finally, reservations are WRONG(idiotic, to be precis) as a solution. I have no doubt in my mind about it!! what then, is the solution? Because, though we may doubt about seat reservations as a solution, the problem still remains!! That, I think would make a good discussion......

I feel that this process of signing petitions are going to take us no where. I have signed so many petitions these last few months and its just signed so that we feel that we are doing something for the cause.

Will it make a difference at all ???
